Stop Working: It’s Already Done

This weekend is passover, it happens to be coming on a sabbath, which is the day of rest and for us who have come to know and understand the truth of who Jesus Christ was, it’s fitting that this passover should be on the Sabbath.

He was the eternal lamb, slain before the foundation of the world, to cover us with his sacrificial blood covering to both proclaim power over all in the spiritual and the physical, and prove once and for all that there is no death to those who walk in the way.

Folks, many have taken this to mean that “we will go to heaven when we die and therefore live on” and yes, it is true that some are appointed to sleep for a time before the resurrection, but I tell you that there are some in this generation who won’t see death before the coming of the Kingdom.

Indeed there is at least one who has yet to pass from the time of Jesus, though they have been hidden for a time in order to fulfill what was written. In these final days, before the coming of our Father’s Kingdom in all its fullness and wonder, we can rest, knowing that the cross not only settled our salvation, but proved that all things pertaining to life (all of life) and Godliness are available to those who would believe, and all that is required is to rest in God, believe this Truth, and live accordingly.

The author of Hebrews also spoke of this in Hebrews 4:1-13 and we’ll quote it here for you to read at the end of this message so that you can hear the Word, not only read but to Hear means to be obedient to it, that your faith may be proven fully and that God may perfect your faith for you in your rest.

These words may seem radical in such a time as we live today, but the Truth is that you the only thing that most followers of Jesus need to do is to actually enter their rest, cease from their works, listen to God’s voice and allow him to provide for you through obedience and relationship. This is free; yours to keep from the Father simply because of His love for you, on and individual level. Not a figurative you, not someone who is fully righteous of their own accord, but you, a sinner, destitute and tired in your own way, exhausted from the race set before you by the world, and prepared to cry out to the Father to accept His free gift of mercy and love to you.

We know this to be true in that though we were sinners, Christ was sent to die for us, to settle all debt for all people once and for all. This is a new covenant, however a covenant relationship must be lived not simply understood in order to receive the full benefits of this love.

Do you not understand that the same works of Jesus are available to you as well? Do you not know that the full power of God is yours for free you simply must accept it and live according to it? This is free. My father, and our Father desires mercy and not sacrifice. So much so that He and His son came together in unity of purpose and dedication to bring you freedom, though none of us deserve it.

And why don’t we deserve it? Because of selfishness and focus on ourselves. But God, in His infinite Wisdom, Love, Mercy and Truth, shot His arrow of wrath upon the world by sending Love to you and a truce. His son agreed and subjected himself to the worst death a man could die so that all debt through Him would be settled. That whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

These are not mere words but Truth in action. You are invited to live in the blessings of this gift by simply resting, repenting of your own way of life and accepting this free gift from God.

Now I say rest because the passover lamb has been slain already. The work is finished and salvation, as it is written, is of the LORD. May the Holy Spirit impart to you the depth of this Truth so that you would enter your rest with us. That we could all be one in the Father as He has begged us, not through harm which is well deserved, but through Love, tenderness of heart, Truth and Mercy. There is NOTHING that can separate you from God except for your own choice to not walk in His Truth and Mercy.

I beg you, in this Final season that you would accept this truth. I love you, God loves you. You were made perfect in His eyes and though you live not in perfection, you are His Work and if you so choose, He will come and make His home with you and direct you into a life that you could’ve never possibly imagined. Far greater peace than you ever thought possible.

I speak this to you as one of who was appointed a messenger, in these final days to testify to the Truth of God’s message and one who has been a witness to the Truth of Jesus’ resurrection. Not through seeing the physical presence of the resurrected body of Christ Jesus, but by faith. Not only faith by mental capacity, but faith by action and love. By faith and Truth I eagerly await the day I can thank Him in person for His faithful witness to the Truth.

Many who are first will be last, and the last will be first. This has many meanings but this morning I am convinced that it is the Truth that those who believe in this season, who have not had the benefit of witnessing with their eyes the Truth of Jesus’ physical resurrection will be some of the first to enter the Kingdom because, though we have not seen, we have believed. God will do mighty things through we who do believe in this season. Not for our Glory but always for His because He is worthy to be praised and is far more than we could ever ask, hope or Think.

Jesus Christ has come in the flesh, He was resurrected on the third day to the Glory of God the Father. To God be all the Glory, forever and ever. Amen.

We will finish this off with the Word from Hebrews. Please read and enjoy so that you can believe. God bless you.

Hebrews 4:1-13 NKJV

“Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it.

For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.

For we who have believed do enter that rest, as He has said: “So I swore in My wrath, ‘They shall not enter My rest,’ ” although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

For He has spoken in a certain place of the seventh day in this way: “And God rested on the seventh day from all His works”; and again in this place: “They shall not enter My rest.”

****Since therefore it remains that some must enter it, and those to whom it was first preached did not enter because of disobedience, again He designates a certain day, saying in David, “Today,” ****after such a long time, as it has been said: “Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts.”

For if Joshua had given them rest, then He would not afterward have spoken of another day.

There remains therefore a rest for the people of God.

For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.

Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.”
